Therapy Contract

I commit to engage with the challenge of striving for ethical practice and conduct.

I take responsibility for respecting my patient's best interests when providing therapy and to treat my patient with respect.

Given my multicultural personal history, I have been in contact with people from different backgrounds from a very early age. This has been helpful in stimulating my curiosity about different cultures and it has enabled me to develop respect and tolerance for individual differences, not allowing prejudice about a patient's sex, age, colour, race, disability, sexuality, social, economic or immigration status, lifestyle, religious or cultural beliefs to adversely affect the therapeutic relationship.

I regret not being able to offer therapy to patients who speak languages other than English or Italian.

At the end of my first meeting with a patient we take a few minutes to discuss the therapy contract to ensure that we both understand the mutual obligations that the therapeutic process entails.

FIND A THERAPIST

1The key to successful therapy is finding the right therapist for you. However good, knowledgeable or experienced a therapist is, it is the relationship between the two of you that determines whether you trust them enough, and they come to understand you enough, to help you explore and find solutions for your problem.
